Personally I would recommend the signal booster in your case (1 bar) and only the 4G LTE cellspot if you don't have an ISP data cap. ps: happy cake day! Might want to add that I don't think it boosts B12. So if you're in a B12 only area, booster does squat. The new LTE CellSpot is the shit.
IIRC, on the iPhone you will have T-Mobile Wi-Fi instead of just T-Mobile in the status bar when connected to the CellSpot via wifi. The term "Cellspot" is used for both the Router and LTE Signal Booster. If you are using the router, then yes, you need WiFi Calling enabled and you'll see no change to your cellular signal.
