Dang gems are dropping like flies around here. Some apotheosis "affix" items have gem sockets on them. It should say " [ ] Empty Socket" near the bottom of the description. Those are the only items that the gems are compatible with. Take that item plus your gem and put them in the blacksmith table. Just remember that they're permanent.
