My favourite so far must be the "island plates" map. I'm currently playing on a medium sized one as Japan, and 5 out of 8 civs started on a relatively large island with loads of bays and coasts, and the 3 other civs started on their own islands. Everywhere there are small or medium sized islands, perfect for setting up colonies abroad!
