Its actually not too bad. The problem with lane ryze is that u have to face an oponent 1v1 with no dmg, no sustain, no nothing until u get a couple items. With ryze jungle youre able to safely farm (if the enemy doesnt invade you) and your ganks arent bad at all with a point and click CC. Only thing that helds him back is stuff like WW Kha Udyr ...

Ryze's current 12.3 presence (with only LCS/LEC games) is 85%. That is extremely high; if Ryze remains at that level for 12.3 and 12.4 once LCK/LPL are included, nerfs are required due to the balance framework. I one tricked ryze top, but with the minion aggro update its actually just too hard in some matchups now. I'm having a hard time finding ryze viable at all right now, but he is specifically worse after that aggro update. Like many have said, this is actually more manageable top lane. He's actually pretty durable with his Quas minibuffs and early-game consumables in the early game phase. A lot of people don't really bother funneling resources to him any more as an average Invoker with enough levels can already do a lot with damage spells like Chaos Meteor(Meatball!) and a Deafening Blast.
