I think it's appropriate to be angry at them for costing thousands of people a job merely because they can't communicate their wants and needs to their playerbase. Activision and Blizzard merged in 2008. The very beginning of the "Blizzard DOTA" project was in 2010, that finally became Heroes of the Storm which launched in alpha version in 2014. So HoTS was actually an ActiBlizz project since the beginning. Bug fixes take a lot of time, especially edge case interactions. And there are a metric ton of bug fixes in this patch. This feels like some highly experienced HOTS engineers and testers were given at least a couple months to clean out the known issues. This patch was no small effort. Tychus? He is still first pick because the meta are bruisers and tanky heroes and because he has % from the start he is still the best assassin to pick. If the other assassins had their % damage talents early like in level 4 maybe Tychus will be less important. (10% less damage with grenade is irrelevant) They then released 2-3 more heroes, but it tanked player numbers (myself included) just because it had the vibe of a sinking ship. The best heroes for a beginner are: Raynor (Assassin) Muradin (Warrior) Li Li (Support) These three heroes will teach you the basics of positioning, crowd control, avoiding deaths and are mechanically simple to play. This allows you to focus more on learning the game, and less on hitting skill shots.
