Personally, I don't see any additional value in killstreak weapons. They're not worth it for me. You can try uncrating for them if you'd like, as you do have a very low chance of unusuals/Pro kits. It's better off to just buy the kits yourself, or the fabricators and craft them for Specialized/Pro kits.

ALL killstreak kits have the ( Not Usable in Crafting ) tag, it simply means the kit isn't used directly in any crafting recipe. After you put it on a craftable weapon the weapon will still remain craftable, for use in completing spec or prof killstreak fabricators.
