I have one that takes a light tap to get it to go the last bit. 2) Make sure mag is out. 3) Don't try to rotate the takedown lever clockwise with the slide closed. Slide must be locked back to turn the lever clockwise.

I just purchased one of Sig's surplus M17s and disassembled it to do a thorough cleaning. I have two P320, so am familiar with the civilian model. But I wasn't able to remove the M17 fire control unit. Is the military version designed to have the FCU not removed by anyone except an armorer?
