As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. Tradovate replay and simulation work pretty well and as someone mentioned, it's pretty good about not automatically filling you just bc the target is hit. I will offer this one bit of caution: if you are simulating trading during a low volume session, for example overnight, I would say its not that accurate bc stops get tagged pretty easily overnight vs regular hours.
