6 replies to this topic. 1. Re: Food and water safety. There is no problem with food or water in Buenos Aires. Many people, like the world over, like to drink bottled water due to some chlorine taste from tap water, but the water is perfectly safe. Sadly, the one big problem is weight gain.

In BA right now and have been using Uber. The main issue we find is the long wait (10-15 minutes) for the uber to arrive. Longer trips (say airport) I ussually tip 10%. Restaurants: 10% if good service, more if exceptional, less if below par. 10% is the custom here. Hotels: Bellboy about 10 pesos, maid about 5 pesos per day, I also tip breakfast waiters about 5 pesos per day, and if concierge /front desk staff were helpful about 10 pesos per day.

Just north of Buenos Aires' centre there's a place called Tigre which is really calm, tranquile and nice. The Rio de la Plata runs through it and you can go on boats in the river and see the little town. You can catch a train from Retiro station that takes you directly to Tigre in an hour or so. I have seen both Senor Tango and the show at Cafe de los Angelitos and would recommend them both for different reasons - Senor Tango is a much bigger production (including horses on stage when we were there) while Cafe de los Angelitos is much more intimate and traditional (with better food).

Hey there! I think 3 days 2 nights in Iguazú in enough to get to know the place but have more time in Buenos Aires (there's loooots to see there!).. I'd recommend taking a day trip to a nearby estancia (like Argentina Polo Day).
