Moonveil has more range on it's specials compared to Uchigatana with it's standard Unsheath, but also costs more FP. Overall both weapons are great tbh. Despite all the hate that Moonveil gets, regular Uchigatana is basically on par with it. You need to have dedicated build for it to be good.

It's one of those weapons that's a noob trap, imo. People get stuck on using the ranged attack as a crutch, while the actual katana moveset is extremely versatile and is, in tandem with the ranged attack, the key to being really skilled with it. In other words, it's a low skill floor, high skill ceiling weapon.I can’t find a a breakdown to the AR adjustment to see if that is holy damage added or just a percentage increase to the damage types already being used but that was a consistent 11.5% on both rivers of blood and moonveil. 11.5% defense boost is worth it and 11.5% attack boost regardless of type is still worth it.
