I tried M1 out for this past year because I got a free yearly trial of M1 Plus and it is really nice to research stock picks, but you can research picks with a portfolio visualizer online. Also M1 offers fractional shares for any index fund/ stock, which is amazing. I have Schwab and Vanguard and neither offers fractional shares at the scale of M1.
