for f7 yeah, in general im gonna say no. Ive played both classes mage with 750m setup, archer (juju zerk) with 950m setup and zerk is considerably better. Imo cuz more single target dmg, and like double ehp. As a zerk in f6 i could get 1.5m ehp no diamond head and only lvl 98 yeti.Mage will be painful progression and takes a lot of coins. My advice is progress to F7 as berserker (maybe archer at later lvls) then switch to mage when you have hyperion. Without a hyperion you will not get parties on F7 or above. For outside dungeons aurora gear (mage gear from crimson isles) is cheap to startup.
