The axe is a fine strength weapon; it's got a great moveset and that spin-to-win charged R2 is a great stun for STR builds. Skill builds may have better viscerals, bloodtinge builds might laugh at our guns and lack of bloodsoaked katanas, and don't mention tentacles to the arcane builds; strength builds have stagger.

Saw Cleaver and Church Pick are definitely the two best Conversion weapons in the game. They're also two of the best weapons in the game in general. There's just no way to really compete with weapons that do a lot of damage and are either really fast or sort-of fast and with decent range.
