The first one is that it seems to me as though CACO slows down the leveling speed of Alchemy tremendously. Making a poison that damages enemies for 30 points shouldn't just add a miniscule amount to the exp bar in the early 20's of the Amchemy tree. I believe this is because the Author nerfed the Value of potions in general.
