Drove around for about 20 minutes then went into the hardware store. I came out, tried to start it up and it cranked for approximately a half second then stopped.

Mine was loosing prime and would either stall or not start. I did 2 things to fix the problem. I rebuilt the primer on the fuel filter housing and replace the bleed screw on the filter housing. Basically it is not seeing a signal from the camshaft because its not seeing the completed circuit. Sensor or wiring issue most likely.
