Check the radiator cap, make sure it is screwed on all the way. It could have also gone bad or perhaps it has the wrong pressure rating and is releasing pressure (coolant) at too low of a pressure. The radiator cap should have an 18 lb. pressure rating.There are a few ways you can tell if your overheating issues are being caused by a bad water pump. Look for coolant dripping near the front of your engine bay; it might be coming from your water pump if its gaskets are old and corroded. You should also inspect the water pump itself to see what kind of shape it's in.

I saw this question come up and I don't recall anyone having any real issues with overheating, however if you would rather be sure not to cause a problem one solution is to get an off-road bumper where the winch is recessed. Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine. But as speed increases the temp goes up.
