Posts: 338. The carrier the bolt assy. is attached to on mine cracked several times. I took the last one to a machine shop and had one made from steel plate. It has never cracked again. Mine is the trap model and the first two cracked before 15,000 rounds. The gun now has just over 75,000 rounds through it.

Production of them suspended in 1987. I always liked the look of the 51 trap guns and the way they fit me but never got a chance to shoot one.In the early 1980s the Model 51 was replaced by the Model 51A. The next Ithaca price list I have is December 1, 1984, and the skeet gun is now the Supreme Skeet and the list price is $604.
